Author Interview - Jason Pargin

Aaaaaaand Jason Pargin is back! BRK has one again been graced by the dry whit and walking internet meme that is Jason Pargin. Prior to 2020 Jason was known for his pen name, David Wong and has the unique skill of authoring excellent books in the wild and whacky cosmic horror genre. Also the former executive editor of the popular early-internet humor website, Cracked.com - as such Jason can talk with ease and is brimmming with insight about every topic that has had it's fifteen minutes of fame in the online spotlight for the last 18 years (at least).
He joins Evan and Chad today to discuss his new book, Zoey Is Too Drunk for This Dystopia and though it can be read as a stand-alone, is the third book featuring the character Zoey Ashe. Full of furutistic violence and fancy suits, (coincidentally the name of the first book featuring Zoe) this book is sure to satisfy cosmic horror readers the world round. If you haven't had the chance to pick up a Jason Pargin book, you are missing out. His style is truly unique and extremely entertaining to say the least, BRK is proud to recommend any of his books as they are all great. Bookish folk the world round wait with bated breath. Thousands of finely formed tuchus’s can be seen perched precariously on the edges of seats. Like the inevitable turning of a page, 3:59am (PST) ticks to 4am. A roar sweeps the United States and continues out over the Atalantic. Ships of all shape and size begin rocking as those of a bookish disposition raise their collective voices, unified in book-fevered zeal. In mere moments the seismic thunder of Bookinarians (how is that not already a thing?? It is now. Your welcome) the world round set off car alarms and send seismologists running to their phones, knowing they’re too late to warn the world of the oncoming quake. Before starting worldwide panic they remember, oh right, it’s Monday. People who read, like werewolves at a full moon, transform every monday morning, their combined love of books manifests into what many call, “at the very least a damn good podcast episode”.
